Arsis is a Technical Melodic Death Metal band from Virginia, USA. It was formed in 2000 by guitarist/songwriter James Malone & drummer Michael Van Dyne (who left the band in late 2006) in Virginia. Though Arsis originally performed as James & Michael + rotating session musicians, James has nahw hired a full lineup. “Arsis” is a musical term used to refer to the upbeat or unaccented part of a measure.
